YRF has cemented its place as one of the leading production houses of India over the past five decades and so it is no surprise that their lineup of films is a much anticipated announcement. Well, we have the list of movies now and we must say, there’s a lot to look forward to!
Tiger Zinda Hai:
This Christmas, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif reprise their roles in the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger. The actors have been shooting in exotic locales and rumour has it that the film will be even more high octane than the first one. There is also talk about making the Tiger films into a ‘James Bond’ type franchise.
It will be interesting to watch Salman and Katrina together on the big screen after a few years and to see if they can create the magic they have created in the past.
Hichki:
Rani Mukherji is making a strong comeback in Hichki, after her previous Mardaani, which received a lot of critical acclaim. Once again, we will see the powerful actress in a female centric film and knowing that Rani always packs a neat punch with her performances, we are very excited already.
Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar:
Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra finally reunite on the big screen for Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. Ever since we saw their fierce chemistry in Arjun’s debut, Ishaqzaade, we have wanted them to star together in a project and it seems we are finally getting our wish fulfilled. With Dibaker Banerjee in the director’s seat, the film promises to be different.
Arjun’s and Parineeti’s characters come from completely different worlds. Says an insider, “Two more unlikely protagonists in one film are unimaginable. They are united in one thing only. Their mistrust, suspicion, and hatred for each other.”
Sui Dhaaga – Made in India:
Now here’s an unusual title for an unusual film. Sui Dhaaga has been announced with the fresh pairing of Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma playing the lead roles. The film is being directed by Sharat Katariya and produced Manish Sharma, whose last collaboration, Dum Laga Ke Haisa, went on to win the National Award for Best Hindi Film. We are definitely looking forward to the film.
Thugs of Hindostan:
Imagine two legends in one film – Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan are all set to make this a reality as they star in Thugs of Hindostan alongside Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sheikh (of Dangal fame). A few photos have appeared on the internet which show Aamir Khan looking a little bit like a certain Tyrion Lannister and that has piqued our interest already.
While we don’t know much about the story yet, we now know that it will be a Diwali 2018 release.
Let us know which of these films you are most looking forward to.
